Gray Whales:
On the southern end of their great migration, the Grays calve, mate, and spend the winter in warmer waters than are in their arctic home. The curious and friendly young and their watchful mothers provide unforgetable encounters with human visitors in and around the whales’ wintering lagoons. Touching, petting, and even a kiss or two are common enough to almost be expected on these trips at the height of season.
